Maternidad intramuros: La decisión adentro o afuera. Una dicotomía que refuerza la idea de dos contextos diferentes de crianza

    Las mujeres en prisión se enfrentan al desafío de como transitar su maternidad. Algunas mujeres ya tuvieron hijos antes de ser detenidas, otras quedaron embarazadas durante su estadía en el penal. Cualquiera que haya sido la forma, las mujeres madres que se encuentran detenidas tienen que tomar muchas decisiones en relación a como transitar su maternidad. En la Argentina, los niños menores a 4 años pueden permanecer junto a sus madres durante el tiempo de institucionalización. Esta primera decisión conlleva muchas consecuencias en ambos casos. Sea cual fuere la decisión tomada, son juzgadas como “buenas o malas” madres y el trato que reciben también está subjetivado por su rol maternal. En este trabajo me pregunto cómo se construye la maternidad en prisión y cuáles las consecuencias de ser madre intramuros

    Women in prison face the challenge of how to navigate their motherhood. Some women already had children before being detained, others became pregnant during their stay in the prison. Whatever the form, the women mothers who are detained have to make many decisions regarding how to travel their motherhood. In Argentina, children under 4 years can remain with their mothers during the time of institutionalization. This first decision has many consequences in both cases. Whatever the decision, they are judged as "good or bad" mothers and the treatment they receive is also subjectivated by their maternal role. In this work I wonder how motherhood is built in prison and what are the consequences of being an intramural mother.
