Resumen: ¿Cuál es el sesgo del abordaje del neoliberalismo llevado a cabo por Michel Foucault en su curso sobre el Nacimiento de la biopolítica que todavía no ha sido suficientemente explorado? A nuestro entender, resta aún por examinar los resultados que se siguen de haber emprendido el estudio del neoliberalismo como marco de racionalidad política de la biopolítica. Ahora bien, para relevar los hallazgos que resultan de esta decisión teórica es menester procurar explicitar, al mismo tiempo, los lazos que conectan entre sí los análisis formulados por el pensador francés entre 1976 y 1979 y, describir la biopolítica implícita en las políticas sociales proyectadas y puestas en práctica en las distintas variables de la gubernamentalidad neoliberal expuestas en el curso del ’79. A través de la reconstrucción de estos lazos esperamos mostrar que los análisis de Foucault sientan las bases que permiten advertir que la gubernamentalidad neoliberal “hace vivir y deja morir”.

Abstract: What is the distinctive bias of the approach to neoliberalism carried out by Michel Foucault in his course on the Birth of biopolitics that has not yet been sufficiently explored? In our view, the results that follow from having undertaken the study of neoliberalism as a framework of politia rationale for biopolitics remain to be examined. However, to reveal the findings that result from this theoretical decision, we need to make explicit, at the same time, the ties that connect the analyzes made by the French thinker between 1976 and 1979 and to describe the biopolitics implicit in the projected and applied social policies in the different variables of neoliberal governmentality exposed in the classes of the 1979 course. Through the reconstruction of these ties, we hope to show that Foucault’s analyzes lay the foundations that allow us to warm that neoliberal governmentality « makes live and lets die ».
