The so-called «Leghna» genre, or Hassani poetry, forms part of the varied popular literatures, and has arrived to position itself on the front line of Saharian culture. Indeed, some have even come to think that it represents their foundation and unique nucleus since it is anchored in oral memory and culture. Its rhythmic nature not only has preserved it from being lost or becoming faint, but it has helped it to survive and become part of its attraction as well as of its celebration.
