Las construcciones desiderativas parentéticas con función eufemística en español clásico

    Una construcción parentética precisa cómo debe interpretarse la oración matriz en la que se inserta. En este trabajo someto a revisión su definición basándome en el análisis de un tipo de parentéticas de modalidad desiderativa en español clásico, ya que las propiedades de las parentéticas se han deducido hasta la fecha del estudio de construcciones únicamente de modalidad enunciativa. Las construcciones desiderativas que aquí se analizan están muy fijadas y especializadas en un solo uso: atenuar la ruptura que la oración matriz hace de un tabú. La desiderativa quiere limpiar la impureza que deja esta violación y restituir el valor propio de la expresión.

    Parenthetical constructions specify how the matrix clause in which they are inserted should be understood. In this paper I review its definition, analyzing a type of parentheticals with optative illocution in Classical Spanish, since the properties of parentheticals have always been deduced from the study of constructions with declarative illocution only. The optative constructions that are analyzed here are highly fixed and specialized in a single function: to attenuate the violation of a taboo that the matrix clause expresses. The optative cleans the stain caused by this violation and restores the proper meaning of the expression.
