  • Resumen
    • The parameters used for the acquisition of the IBERSEIS deep seismic reflection profile in SW Iberian Peninsula provide both: seismic images of the deep crust as well as a high resolution section of the shallow subsurface. Furthermore, a piggy back seismic acquisition experiment using additional seismic instrumentation from the University of Paris Sud, a 48 channel D M T system; provided perpendicular, offline recordings, of the Vibroseis shots. This additional cable was deployed perpendicularly to the main IBERSEIS seismic reflection line. The final "T" shape recording geometry provides sone 3-dimensional coverage localized in areas of specific interest (granitic plutons). This seismic data acquired in the sorroundings of the granitic plutons has been processed using seismic tomography techniques. The main aim has been to produce three dimensional velocity models along a 500m wide and 500 deep strip along the IBERSEIS transect localized in la Bazana, la Dehesilla, la Parra, Feria and Villafranca. The tomographic inversion produced a high resolution velocity image (50x50x50 m cell size) which provides valuable information for the characterization of fractured and fresh domains in the granitic bodies.
