    Este artículo resume las hojas de servicio de dos oficiales supervivientes del combate de Cavite y transcribe informes por ellos elaborados hasta ahora inéditos. Con su lectura pueden seguirse los antecedentes inmediatos del combate, el traslado de la Escuadra a Subic Bay, el regreso a Cavite para batirse contra los yanquis, las circunstancias de la defensa de Manila y la participación de los marinos en ella. Esos dos oficiales desempeñaban los destinos de ayudante del almirante Montojo, el uno, y el otro, hermano menor del anterior, de oficial de la dotación del crucero Don Juan de Austria

    This article summarizes the service record of two officers of the Spanish Navy, survivors of the Battle of Cavite, and offer the unpublished reports drawn up by them. By their lecture, the immediate antecedents of the battle, the transfer of the squadron to Subic Bay, the return to Cavite to fight the Yankees, the circumstances of the defense of Manila and the participation of the sailors in it, can be tracked. These two officers where posted respectively one as military assistant of the Admiral Montojo, and on board of the cruiser Don Juan de Austria his younger brother
