    El tema de la Misa de San Gregorio según una xilografía de Alberto Durero fue copiado repetidamente incluso en vida del artista. Hace algunos años se rescató de un trastero de la iglesia parroquial de Alconchel de Ariza una pintura, afectada por malas condiciones de conservación, con el mismo tema y siguiendo el modelo de la estampa dureriana; pero los elementos de la escena aparecen invertidos. Entre los copistas grabadores, unos mantenían la correspondencia respecto a la orientación del modelo del maestro Durero; pero otros, voluntaria o involuntariamente, invirtieron la imagen. Tuvo que ser alguna de esas estampaciones invertidas que el pintor anónimo de Alconchel utilizara como referente para su trabajo.
