Resumen de Cuerpo femenino: ¿cuerpo nihilista?: «Vacío» y la construcción social de la locura

El cuerpo no constituye meramente una materialidad, una posesión, un medio de intercambio que posibilita la interacción con el ‘otro’; el cuerpo es, por demás, un texto en el cual se inscriben los significados culturales. Así, los cuerpos nunca ‘son’ por sí mismos, sino a partir de discursos, construcciones sociales y prácticas performativas: mandatos, etiquetas, creencias, sistemas normativos y de control (religión, leyes, moral, medicina). Partiendo de dicha premisa, este estudio pretende aproximarse al texto dramático costarricense Vacío (2010) de Roxana Ávila y Ailyn Morera para establecer un diálogo entre el modo de configuración imaginario-discursivo del cuerpo femenino y la construcción cultural de la locura y la maternidad.

The body does not merely constitute a materiality, a possession; a means of exchange that enables interaction with the ‘other’; the body is, on the other hand, a text in which cultural meanings are inscribed. Thus, bodies never ‘are’ by themselves, but from discourses-social constructions and their performative practices: mandates, labels, beliefs, normative and control systems (religion, laws, morals, medicine). Starting from this premise, this study aims to approach the Costa Rican dramatic text Vacío (2010) by Roxana Ávila and Ailyn Morera, to establish a dialogue between the imaginary-discursive mode of configuration of the female body and the cultural construction of madness and motherhood.
