El lenguaje no sexista: más allá del debate

    La visibilización de las mujeres se suele relacionar de manera directa con el lenguaje. En el ámbito del sexismo, tanto el uso del masculino genérico como el de estrategias para evitarlo se han convertido en objeto de reivindicación y de polémica. LaLa mayoría de aportaciones al tema en el ámbito del español son de carácter normativo, en el marco de contextos institucionales que pretenden promover la igualdad de las mujeres respecto a los hombres, o de carácter crítico.Calen, però, estudis de l'ús real contextualitzat en entorns socials. Hacen falta, sin embargo, más estudios del uso real contextualizado en entornos sociales. En este trabajo, Per contribuir a aquesta mirada analítica, identificarem els contextos problemàtics i les estratègies igualitàries utilitzades en el debat d'investidura de Puigdemont (10.01.16) i en el debat d'investidura de Rajoy (26.10.16).hemos identificado los contextos en los que designan a personas con sustantivos en el debate de investidura de Rajoy (2016) y en la investidura de Sánchez (2019). Hemos diferenciado los casos en que se utilizan masculinos genéricos de aquellos en que se usan estrategias alternativas, los hemos clasificado y hemos determinado el porcentaje de uso de las diferentes estrategias. Los datos se analizan teniendo en cuenta dos variables extralingüísticas: el sexo del miembro de parlamento y el partido que representa. El análisis muestra que hay portavoces que no introducen marcas nunca o solo esporádicamente, algunos las introducen con frecuencia y otros lo hacen de manera más o menos aleatoria. Identificamos cuáles son las tendencias y en qué contextos son más o menos frecuentes las alternativas al masculino genérico. Comparamos la evolución de las estrategias en el debate de 2016 i el de 2019. Finalmente, relacionamos los usos analizados con posicionamientos ideológicos dentro del espectro político parlamentario español y con la variable de género (hombre y mujer) y de procedencia del representante (estatal o autonómica).

    The visibilization of women is usually related to language. Both the use of the generic masculine and the strategies to avoid it have arisen both vindication and controversy. Most contributions in the field of Spanish are either normative, within the framework of institutional contexts that seek to promote the equality of women with respect to men, or critical with respect to the use of alternatives to the generic masculine. More studies of real contextualized use in social environments are needed. In this paper, I identify the contexts in which people are referred to with nouns in two parliamentary debates, namely the investiture debate of Rajoy (2016) and failed investiture of Sánchez (2019). I have differentiated and classified the uses of the generic masculine from those in which alternative strategies are used, and the percentage of use of the different strategies has been determined. The data are analyzed taking into account two extra-linguistic variables: the gender of the member of parliament and the party that she or he represents. The analysis shows that there are spokespersons who do never or only seldom introduce non-sexist marks, some introduce them frequently and others do so more or less randomly. The results allow us to identify the tendencies in the use of non-sexist strategies and also the contexts that favor or disfavor the alternatives to the generic masculine. The evolution of the strategies is highlighted by comparing the 2016 and the 2019 debates. Finally, the different uses are related to ideological positions within the Spanish parliamentary political spectrum and with the gender variable (man and woman) and the origin of the representative (state or regional).
