Resumen de La atención a familias en Futubide: Servicio de Pretutela

  Futubide, entidad que lleva 20 años tutelando personas con discapacidad intelectual, también presta un servicio dirigido a familiares de personas con discapacidad intelectual que se ocupan de su cuidado, ejerzan o no una figura de guarda legal (tutela, curatela o patria potestad prorrogada) con el fin de ofrecerles una solución de confianza a la preocupación sobre el futuro de su familiar con discapacidad cuando ellos falten. Este Servicio fue puesto en marcha en 2009, con el objetivo de dar mayor contenido y estructuración a las acciones que se venían llevando a cabo desde el inicio de nuestra entidad con las familias, que se ceñían a orientación legal y firma de acuerdos testamentarios que se custodiaban en el archivo. Durante estos años, la atención a familias ha ido adquiriendo un peso específico dentro de la propia entidad, generando cambios a nivel organizacional. Este servicio ofrece, a través de un proceso específico de atención: 1) Acogida e Información sobre el procedimiento de incapacitación y la tutela: entrevistas encaminadas a resolver las dudas e inquietudes de las familias relacionadas con estos asuntos legales.

  2) Compromiso de Futuro para que Futubide asuma la tutela del familiar con discapacidad, a través de la firma de un documento de acuerdo privado denominado Protocolo de Familia, además del reflejo de este deseo a través del testamento de los padres. 3) Establecimiento de la relación y seguimiento con los interesados hasta el momento en que se produzca el Relevo.

  Futubide, an institution with 20 years of experience protecting people with intellectual dissabilities, also provides a service aimed at the relatives who take care of their well-being, whether they exent a legally protection custody or not (tutelage, extended custody), with the purpose of offering a reliable solution to their concern about their relatives’ future after they had died. This service has been running since 2009, with the goal of giving more content and structure to the actions that had been implemented with the families since the foundation of our institution, and which consisted simply of legal orientation and the signing of testamentary agreements, which were kept in our archives. During these years, the attention to the families has been gaining a specific weight in the institution itself, generating organitional changes. This service provides by means of a specific attention process: 1) Reception and information on the process of handicap and custody: interviews directed to solve doubts and concerns of the relatives related with legal affairs. 2) Future compromise with Futubide so that our institution assumes the guardianship of the relative with intellectual disability, through the signing of a private agreement document called ‘Family Protocol’, as well as the inclusion of this wish in the parents’ Will. 3) Constant update and following-up with the relatives until the moment the custody comes to the institution.
