As “formigas de fogo”: memórias da Coluna Prestes em Nova Iorque – MA

    When we conduct a research on memories of old residents of New York in Maranhao, we can see the multiplicity of events that permeate the city’s history. In the case of local memory, through the multiple interpretations produced by the residents emerge to cross the Prestes Column in the twenties. In the plot of the events memories turn out to be pregnant with symbolic meaning in such a way that allows us to interpret the diverse oral narratives and world views set out by residents. Through these stories told by those who directly or indirectly experienced these moments, we can retrace the steps of the events, while allowing us to engineer the operation of another interpretation, or other writing of history

    Ao realizarmos a pesquisa sobre as memórias dos velhos moradores de Nova Iorque no Maranhão, podemos constatar a multiplicidade dos eventos que permeiam a história da cidade. No caso da memória local, através das múltiplas interpretações produzidas pelos moradores, emergem a passagem da Coluna Prestes na década de vinte. Na trama dos acontecimentos as lembranças revelam-se prenhes de significados simbólicos de tal forma que nos permite interpretar as mais diversas narrativas orais e visões de mundo expostas pelos moradores. Por intermédio dessas histórias narradas por quem vivenciou diretamente ou indiretamente estes momentos, podemos refazer os passos dos acontecimentos, ao mesmo tempo em que nos permite engendrar a operação de outra interpretação, ou seja, outra escrita da história
