  Este trabajo es un ensayo sobre la difusión del conocimiento anatómico en Canarias, con especial referencia a Tenerife, durante los siglos XIX y XX, concretamente entre finales de la década de 1840 y los años treinta del siglo XX. Se estudia el papel que tuvieron los media (periódicos y revistas) en la generalización del conocimiento morfológico, y también se analiza la circulación de libros y materiales didácticos sobre este tema, tanto desde la óptica médica como, asimismo, desde la perspectiva del dibujo del cuerpo.

  Consta de los siguientes apartados: La aurora del dibujo anatómico; libros de anatomía. Entre la publicidad y la imaginación creativa; un capítulo singular:

  las preparaciones del Dr. Auzoux; el discurso del cuerpo: divulgar la anatomía;

  las esperanzas del nuevo siglo; Ramón y Cajal, el sabio y sus circunstancias;

  Cajal en El Progreso de Tenerife y unas breves conclusiones.

  This work is an essay on the dissemination of anatomical knowledge in Canary Islands, with special reference to Tenerife, during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, in particular between the late 1840s and the thirties of the twentieth century. It studies the role played by the media (newspapers and magazines) in the generalization of morphological knowledge. It also discusses the circulation of books and didactic materials on this subject, both from the medical perspective and from the perspective of the drawing of the body. It consists of the following sections: The authoress of the anatomical drawing;

  anatomy books. Between advertising and creative imagination; a special chapter: Dr. Auzoux preparations; the discourse of the body: to divulge anatomy;

  the hopes of the new century; Ramón y Cajal, the wise and his circumstances;

  Cajal in El Progreso of Tenerife and some brief conclusions.
