  Velimir Khlebnikov (1885-1922) was one of the most well-known members of Russian Cubofuturism.

  Called “King of Time” by his peers, Khlebnikov sought throughout his adult life to enhance the human understanding concerning fundamental laws that, he supposed, governed all aspects of physical reality.

  From this writer’s reflections, the present article means to contribute to the achievement of a greater understanding of the way through which modernity was experienced by Russians during the first quarter of the twentieth century

  Velimir Khlebnikov (1885-1922) foi um dos mais conhecidos membros do cubofuturismo russo. Chamado por seus colegas de “Rei do Tempo”, Khlebnikov buscou por boa parte de sua vida adulta aprofundar o entendimento humano acerca de leis fundamentais que supunha governar todos os aspectos da realidade física. A partir das reflexões deste escritor, o presente artigo tem por principal objetivo contribuir para um maior entendimento acerca da maneira através da qual a modernidade fora experimentada pelos russos durante o primeiro quarto do século XX
