El presente documento analiza la fuente de legitimidad del líder de la República Popular Democrática de Corea (RPDC) Kim Jong-un, los cambios ocurridos en la élite gobernante norcoreana tras la muerte de Kim Jong-il, la vigencia del esquema tradicional de comportamiento de la RPDC y, por último, las relaciones de régimen comunista con el nuevo liderazgo chino.
