Nivel de engagement y su implicancia en el rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios de ciencias de la salud de la Unheval-Huánuco, 2015

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre el nivel de engagement y el rendimiento académico que presentan los estudiantes de ciencias de la salud de la UNHEVAL y demostrar además la implicancia del nivel de engagement en el rendimiento académico de dichos estudiantes. Para su realización se seleccionó como población a los alumnos tres escuelas académico profesionales de ciencias de la salud de la UNHEVAL, tomando luego una muestra representativa total de 194 alumnos distribuidos equitativamente según la cantidad en cada escuela. Para evaluar el Engagement Académico se utilizó la versión española del cuestionario Utrech Work Engagement Scale Student o UWES-S (Versión extendida de 17 ítems); la información del rendimiento académico se obtuvo a través de Reporte de notas proporcionado por la Unidad de Procesos académicos-UNHEVAL. Los resultados muestran en términos generales que no existe relación significativa entre el engagement y el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes universitarios por lo que se concluye que el engagement no incide en el rendimiento; sin embargo, haciendo un análisis por escuelas se ha encontrado que si existe una relación significativa entre el engagement y rendimiento académico en los estudiantes de Enfermería y Obstetricia respectivamente.

    The objective of this research was to establish the relationship between the level of engagement and the academic performance of the students of the health sciences at the UNHEVAL and also demonstrate the implication of the level of engagement in the academic performance of these students. For its realization was selected as population to students three professional academic schools of the health sciences at the UNHEVAL, then taking a representative sample of 194 students total evenly distributed according to the amount in each school. o assess the academic engagement was used the spanish version of the questionnaire Utrecht Work Engagement Scale Student or UWES-S (extended version of 17 items); the academic performance of the information was obtained through transcript provided by the academic unit of processes-UNHEVAL. The results show that in general there is no significant relationship between the engagement and the academic performance of students on what it is concluded that the engagement does not affect the performance; however, doing an analysis by schools has been found that if there is a significant relationship between the engagement and academic performance in students of Nursing and Midwifery respectively.
