  BIM es la base de la cuarta revolución industrial en la construcción, por lo que para comprender cómo abordar el futuro es importante saber cómo se ha producido la capacitación en el pasado. Para ello se realizará una revisión de las revoluciones industriales, la construcción y la capacitación de ingenieros civiles en los últimos 200 años. Comenzando a comprender cómo la capacitación es adecuada para la construcción, analizaremos qué requiere ésta para la construcción 4.0 y para abordar la capacitación BIM de ingenieros civiles; cuál es la situación de la capacitación en España, qué habilidades se requieren y cómo se debe considerar. Finalmente, se analiza el máster oficial en el campo de la construcción en España. Como conclusiones, se exponen las brechas que se han detectado, así como las líneas futuras que debe seguir la capacitación en este campo.

  BIM is the foundation of the fourth industrial revolution in construction, so to understand how to approach the future it is important to know how training has occurred in the past. For this, a review of industrial revolutions, construction and the training of civil engineers in the last 200 years will be carried out. Starting to understand how training is suitable for construction, we will analyse what this training requires for construction 4.0, to address BIM training of civil engineers: what is the situation of training in Spain, what skills are required and how should considering its training. Finally, the official master's degree from the University of Extremadura is analysed, as the only official master's degree in the field of construction in Spain. As conclusions, the gaps that have been detected are exposed, as well as the future lines that training in this field should follow.
