El presente trabajo pretende investigarla conformación de un modelo de sacerdote que cumpliera con las demandas de una mayor profesionalización que dibujó el Concilio de Trento. Para ello, se han trabajado unas fuentes muy concretas: algunas obras de tratadística sacerdotal, en un momento fundamental como son los dos últimos tercios del siglo XVIII, cuando las nuevas corrientes de pensamiento ilustrado, en cierto sentido empezaban a cuestionar la función que los clérigos debían tener en la sociedad, al tiempo que comenzaban a desarrollarse nuevas formas de sociabilidad no siempre bien entendidas por el clero. Se trata de comprobar, en última instancia, si todos estos procesos influyeron a la hora de determinar las principales características que debía reunir el sacerdote ejemplar

This paper aims to investigate the creation of a model priest that met the demands aboutgreater professionalism that the Council of Trentdemanded. To do this, a very specific source, the priestly treaties, have been worked. The study period chosen have been the last two thirds of the eighteenth century, because during this period new currents of Enlightenment thought began to question the rolethat clergymen should have in society. At the same time beginning to develop new forms of sociability not always well understood by the clergy. It is seen, ultimately, if all these processes influenced when determining the main characteristics that shouldgather the exemplary priest.
