    An accompanying person is defined as: a person, sufficiently close to the patient to understand and represent him; it is an extension of the family or parental presence within the hospital structures. Our goal is to study the problematic of patient support in the dermatology department of the CNAM, to describe the contribution of the accompaniers in the financial, material, logistic and psychoaffective care of the patients and to determine the cognitive constraints. environmental aspects of support. This was a prospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study of all cases of accompaniment of hospitalized patients for at least 15 days in the dermatology department of the CNAM during the period from January 2016 to June 2016, i.e. 6 months. We collected a total of 204 carers and 45 health workers. Female gender accounted for 64% of cases. The age of the caregivers ranged from 36 to 55 years old with an average age of 41 years. The accompanying persons were married in 85%. Accompanying persons resided in Bamako in 76.5%. 62.3% of the accompanying persons had at least one experience in the accompaniment of the patients. Accompanying persons were permanent in 88.7% of cases. Despite the constraints and limitations associated with the support of patients in the dermatology department of the CNAM, it remains a phenomenon of great vitality that speaks eloquently of the extent and strength of solidarity networks in Africa

    Un accompagnant se définit comme : une personne, suffisamment proche du patient pour le comprendre et le représenter. Il est un prolongement de la présence familiale ou parentale au sein des structures hospitalières. Nous nous sommes fixés comme objectifs d’étudier la problématique de l’accompagnement des patients au service de dermatologie du CNAM, décrire l’apport des accompagnants dans la prise en charge finanière, matérielle, logistique et psychoaffective des patients et déterminer les contraintes cognitives et environnementales liées à l’accompagnement. Il s’agissait d’une étude prospective, transversale et descriptive de tous les cas d’accompagnements des patients hospitalisés d’au moins pendant 15 jours dans le service de dermatologie du CNAM durant la période de Janvier 2018 à Juin 2018 soit 6 mois. Au terme de cette étude, nous avons colligé au total 204 accompagnants et 45 agents de santé. Le sexe féminin a représenté 64% des cas. L’âge des accompagnants variait de 36 à 55 ans avec une moyenne d’âge à 41 ans. Les accompagnants étaient mariés dans 85%. Les accompagnants résidaient à Bamako dans 76,5%. 62,3% des accompagnants avait au moins une expérience dans l’accompagnement des patients. Les accompagnants étaient des permanents dans 88,7% des cas. Malgré les contraintes et les travers liés à l’accompagnement des patients au service de dermatologie du CNAM, il reste un phénomène de grande vitalité qui témoigne éloquemment de l’étendue et de la solidité des réseaux de solidarité en Afrique.
