Resumen de Clima social escolar en estudiantes de la región de La Araucanía, Chile

  Este estudio tuvo por objetivo evaluar la percepción del Clima Social Escolar de estudiantes de segundo año de secundaria en La Araucanía, Chile. Se trabajó con una muestra representativa constituida por 2.352 estudiantes. Se utilizó el instrumento para Evaluar Clima Social del Centro Escolar (CECSCE). El análisis confirmatorio evidenció que CECSCE tiene una estructura unifactorial y bifactorial. Los análisis de invarianza evidenciaron la estabilidad de la escala para estudiantes de ambos géneros y posee validez y fiabilidad adecuadas para su uso en intervenciones educativas. Los resultados evidencian que los estudiantes de La Araucanía perciben un clima social moderado. Asimismo, aquellos que pertenecen a escuelas municipales, perciben climas sociales más desfavorables, especialmente en el tipo de enseñanza Técnico-Profesional y en el área rural. Se discute el rol de los profesores en general y, específicamente, el de los profesores de Educación Física, en su contribución con la mejora de los ambientes escolares y los niveles de estrés en la escuela.

  The objective of this study was to evaluate the perception of the School Social Climate of secondyear highschool students in La Araucanía, Chile. We worked with a representative sample of 2.352 students. The instrument to evaluate the School's Social Climate (CECSCE) was used. The confirmatory analysis showed that CECSCE has a unifactorial and bifactorial structure. The invariance analysis showed the stability of the scale for students of both genders and has adequate validity and reliability for its use in educational interventions. The results show that the students of La Araucanía region perceive a moderate social climate. Likewise, those who belong to municipal schools perceive the most unfavorable social climates, especially in the type of Technical-Professional education and in rural areas.

  The role of teachers in general and, specifically, of Physical Education teachers, in their contribution to the improvement of school environments and stress levels in school is discussed.
