    The present text aims to reflect on the structure, proposal and purpose of the course called Introduction to Metaphysics, pronounced by Heidegger in 1935. More specifically, the tone of certain passages, the characterization of the “geo-political-spiritual” conjuncture, the proposed interpretations/translations, the narrative of the inaugural event of the Occident and the “being-there in man” and, finally, the proposal of the “leap” (Sprung) in radical questioning as another possible original beginning (ursprünglich). The article contrasts the peremptory tone of the initial and generalizing positions of the course in respect to the German and European conjuncture with the striking development of central concepts of Heidegger's reflection and narrative about the Occident, notably about the concepts of deinon/deinotatón.

    O presente texto tem como objetivo refletir sobre a estrutura, a proposta e a finalidade do curso denominado Introdução à Metafísica, pronunciado por Heidegger em 1935. Mais especificamente, são analisados o tom de determinadas passagens, a caracterização da conjuntura “geo-político-espiritual”, as interpretações/traduções propostas, a narrativa do acontecimento inaugural do Ocidente e do “ser-aí no homem” e, por fim, a proposta do “salto” (Sprung) no questionamento radical como possível outro começo original (ursprünglich). O artigo contrasta a peremptoriedade das posições iniciais e generalizantes do curso em relação à conjuntura alemã e européia com o impactante desdobramento de conceitos centrais da reflexão e da narrativa de Heidegger sobre o Ocidente, notadamente em torno dos conceitos de deinon/deinotatón.
