Resumen de La perspectiva transcultural de los cuidados enfermeros del Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla

  Vivimos en un mundo multicultural, no solo por las dife-rentes etnias existentes en nuestras ciudades y pueblos sino porque los movimientos migratorios o vacacionales nos acercan personas con distintas nacionalidades y con ello, diversos estilos de vida y creencias.

  Toda nuestra sociedad debe adaptarse a esta globa-lidad, con el !n, de entender, respetar y aceptar las di-ferentes prácticas culturales. Favoreciendo la comunica-ción e!caz con estos colectivos.

  En concreto, se quiere hacer referencia a los profe-sionales enfermeros, cuyo objetivo principal es, prestar cuidados a las personas desde una perspectiva holística, abarcando no solo la enfermedad sino todo lo que rodea al paciente, siendo necesario que conozcan las ideas, creencias y hábitos culturales del usuario que tienen en frente.

  Con el siguiente estudio observacional, se intenta identi!car a través de los resultados de una encuesta si los enfermeros del Hospital Universitario Marqués de Val-decilla (HUMV) trabajan bajo una perspectiva transcultu-ral, es decir, identi!cando si están formados en diversidad cultural y enfermería transcultural, si poseen herramien-tas que les facilite entablar una relación e!caz con estos colectivos o por el contrario existen barreras que la di!-culta, con el !n de poder enumerar posibles soluciones.

  We live in a multicultural world, not only because there are different ethnic groups in our cities and villages, but also because migration movements and holiday periods get us closer to people of different nationalities, life ways and beliefs.

  The whole society should adapt to this globalisation for the purpose of understanding, respecting and ac-cepting other’s cultural practices, by promoting effective communication with this group.

  In particular, we wish to make a reference to nurses whose main goal is to provide care from an holistic per-spective, that encompass the illness and the surround-ings of the patient. This is why it is necessary for them to know about the culture, value, attitude and belief of the patient.

  Therefore, according to the observational study and based on our survey results, we try to identify whether nurses at University Hospital “Marques de Valdecilla” draw on transcultural nursing perspective. On one hand, whether they are trained to deal with cultural differenc-es and transcultural nursing practice and If they have the tools to interact effectively with these communities. On the other hand, whether there are some barriers which make it di%cult.Finally, we wish to list and propose possible solutions.
