    En el presente trabajo analizaremos los testimonios heráldicos del Hospital Real de Cádiz. La historia de este nosocomio, luego conocido como Hospital Militar, comienza en el reinado de Carlos II (1665-1700), concretamente en 1667, año en que se fundó dicho hospital siendo obispo de Cádiz Fray Alonso Vázquez de Toledo (1663-1672). En sus antiguos muros podemos encontrar las armas de Carlos II el Hechizado (1665-1700), de los Duques de Alburquerque.

    Analizaremos las razones por als que estos testimonios heráldicos se encuentran presentes en este antiguo establecimiento tan importante para la Sanidad y la Armada Española. EN la actualidad el edificio pertenece a la Universidad de Cádiz.

    In the present work we will analyze the heraldic testimonies of the Real Hospital of Cádiz. The history of this hospital, later known as Military Hospital, begis in the reign of Charles II (1665-1700), specifically in 1667, the year in wich our hospital was found by the Bishop of Cádiz Fray Alonso Vázquez de Toledo (1663-1672). In its old walls we can find the arms os Carlos II the Bewitched (1665-1700), of the Duques os Alburquerque, and Gabriel Andrés de Carvajal.

    We will analyze the reasons, that explain us these heraldic testimonies are in this old establishment that is so important for Health and Spanish Navy. At present, the building belongs to the University of Cádiz.
