    El texto consiste en un comentario acerca de la traducción del artículo Reflexividad narcisista y reflexividad científica, del célebre sociólogo Pierre Bourdieu, originalmente publicado en alemán en 1993. Con este comentario se busca explicar el valor no sólo histórico sino también, y principalmente, teórico, del artículo. Para ello, se lo ubica en el contexto internacional de las obras de Bourdieu, así como en el momento de su trayectoria en que fue escrito y publicado. Se argumenta, también, sobre la relevancia que puede tener para el desarrollo de las ciencias sociales en América Latina.

    This article is a commentary that precedes the translation of celebrated sociologist Pierre Bourdieu’s article “Narcissistic Reflexivity and Scientific Reflexivity,” originally published in German in 1993. It seeks to explain not only the article’s historical value, but also mainly its theoretical value. To do this, the author situates Bourdieu’s article in the international context of his work, as well as in the moment in his career when it was written and published. He also argues for the article’s importance for the development of the social sciences in Latin America.
