    En la representació dels Borja, una part de la ficció histórica més recent tendeix a defugir la llegenda negra que ha acompanyat el cognom al llarg dels segles. En aquest article revisem els mecanismos mitjançant els quals una sèrie televisiva presenta la familia com a protagonista activa de la transició de l'edat mitjana a la moderna, com a impulsors del Renaixement, no tan sols pel que fa als interessos artístics i intel·lectuals, sinó també a l'evolució en la visió de les malalties i les teràpies o en la gestió dels conflictes militars. Comprovem també com els creadors de la sèrie projecten les seves preconcepcions sobre les identitats etnolingüístiques dels personatges.

    When representing the Borgias, apart of the most recent historical fiction tends to avoid the black legend that has accompanied the surname over the centuries. In this article we review the mechanisms through which a television series presents the family as active protagonists of the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern period, as promoters of the Renaissance, not only with regard to artistic and intellectual interests, but also to the evolution of diseases and therapies or in the management of military conflicts. We also check how the creators of the series project their preconceptions on the ethnolinguistic identities of the characters.
