  • Resumen
    • The Diesel Oil Flame-jet is one of the most current systems of granite cutting on quarry. It is a mining method with very many advantages: rapidity, simplicity of application, goods cutting ratios and economicity in combustible and equipment costs, but it has very great disadvantages too. The principal disadvantages are related with environmental agents. This method causes a high-level acoustic contamination (120-140 dB), a great risk of soils and water pollution and finally, a high grade of atmospheric contamination. In 2000 the IGME began an investigation project about a new "Ecologie Flame-jet" that uses propane and no diesel oil. The first results are: the noise levels using gas are upto 20% less than using diesel oil, the propane has much cleaner combustion than diesel oil (no sulphur components) and the velocity of cutting is similar in both cases
