    El presente artículo analiza las estrategias empleadas por la educación paraguaya para abordar el autoritarismo del pasado reciente, fundamentalmente la dictadura de Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda (1954-1989), a 30 años del derrocamiento del régimen. La reforma educativa iniciada en 1991 se propone como un elemento fundamental contribuir a la instauración y fortalecimiento de la democracia en el Paraguay, para lo cual resulta esencial vincular, en el ámbito del sistema educativo, la construcción de la ciudadanía a políticas de memoria, lo que implica nuevas maneras de narrar e interpretar el pasado reciente desde la perspectiva del reconocimiento a las violaciones de DDHH en el pasado.

    This article analyzes the strategies used by Paraguayan education to address the authoritarianism of the recent past, fundamentally the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda (1954-1989), 30 years after the overthrow of the regime. The educational reform initiated in 1991 is proposed as a key element, to contribute to the establishment and strengthening of democracy in Paraguay, for which it is essential to associate the construction of citizenship to memory policies, which imply new ways of narrating and interpreting the recent past from the perspective of the recognition of human rights violations in the past.
