    La política educativa de la Unión Europea (PEDUE) viene siendo, desde hace ya algunos años, objeto de estudio desde diferentes perspectivas. Desde la política educativa supranacional, como disciplina emergente, resulta de interés su estudio y análisis, por un lado, para hacer una trazabilidad de su evolución, sus tendencias y sus intereses educativos; por otro lado, para analizar las acciones educativas que emprende la UE y discernir hasta qué punto dichas acciones cristalizan en los sistemas educativos nacionales. En el presente trabajo se analiza la evolución de la PEDUE desde su origen hasta el siglo XXI para, posteriormente, hacer un análisis desde una perspectiva cuantitativa y cualitativa de las políticas puestas en marcha en materia educativa, en este largo periodo de tiempo. Ambos elementos nos permitirán extraer unas conclusiones generales sobre la PEDUE y extraer algunas ideas fundamentales sobre el futuro de la Unión Europea en materia educativa y la viabilidad de su última propuesta: la implantación para el año 2025 del Espacio Europeo de Educación.

    During the last few years, the Education Policy of the European Union (EPEU) has increasingly become subject matter from different perspectives. From the emergent field of supranational educational policy, its study and analysis is of much interest, on the one hand, to conduct a traceability of its evolution, its tendencies, and its education interests; on the other hand, to analyze the education-related actions that are conducted by the EU and grasp up until what extent do these actions crystallize in the national education systems.

    The present study analyzes the evolution of the EPEU, from its origins up until the twentyfirst century to, subsequently, conduct an analysis of the education policies put in place during this long period, from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective. Both elements will allows us to extract general conclusions from the EPEU and extract some fundamental ideas about the future of the European Union in education matters and the viability of its latest proposal: the establishment of the European Space of Education for the year 2025
