    Este breve texto versará sobre lo que estoy estudiando en la tesis. En ella, investigo la relación existente entre el pensamiento mágico y la teoría del arte, con especial atención al papel de la imaginación, su lengua por imágenes y las imágenes con contenido sagrado. Lo hago a partir del hermetismo, como ejemplo paradigmático de una de las escuelas de pensamiento mágico, de las más importantes en la historia de la cultura europea. Analizo las tres vertientes del pensamiento mágico —magia, astrología y alquimia— en su relación con la historia de las artes. La literatura, la pintura, la música o la arquitectura han sido concebidas como formas de encapsular conocimiento dentro de esta cosmovisión simbólica.

    This short text will focus on what I am studying in the dissertation. In that thesis, I investigate the relationship between the magic thought and the art theory, with special attention to the role of the imagination, its language through images and the images with sacred content. I focus on hermeticism, as a paradigmatic example of one of the magical thinking schools, one of the most important ones in the history of European culture. I analyse the three aspects of magical thinking —magic, astrology and alchemy— in their relation with the history of the arts. Literature, painting, music or architecture have been conceived as ways to encapsulate knowledge within this symbolic cosmoview.
