Variação climática no brejo paraibano e sua influência na produtividade da cana-de-acúcar

    Due to the verification that the temperature is a factor of great importance for the physiologic maturation of the sugarcane and that the amount of water in the soil, in the initial phase of development of the same, it can commit all the exploration, a work was developed in the period of February to May of 2008, with the objective of evaluating the climatic variation in the Swamp paraibano and his/her influence in the productivity of the sugarcane. It was verified through the analysis of the historical behavior of the medium temperature of the air and rainny season, obtained through the determination of the annual averages, that the medium temperature of the air presented, in the period from 1974 to 2008, an increase of 0,0242 0 C/ year, the correspondent to an increase in the temperature of 1,2 0 C in the next 50 years. And the annual variation of the pluvial precipitation in the period from 1974 to 2008 presented a negative tax of 4,696 mm/ year, representing a decrease of 234,8 mm in the next 50 years. Tends in view that the readiness of water in the soil plays an important part in the elongation of the perfilhos and final height of the stems in the sugarcane, as well as, the increase of the temperature can cause a reversion of the sucrose in fructose and glucose besides the reduction of the photosynthesis, and increase of the breathing of the plant, taking to a smaller accumulation of sugars, it is ended that, if the reduction of the precipitation drought together with the increase of the medium temperature of the air be maintained next years, they will significantly be able to commit the development of the sugar cane cultivation in the Swamp paraibano.

    Diante da constatação que a temperatura é um fator de grande importância para a maturação fisiológica da cana-de-açúcar e que a quantidade de água no solo, na fase inicial de desenvolvimento da mesma, poderá comprometer toda a exploração, foi desenvolvido um trabalho no período de Fevereiro a Maio de 2008, com o objetivo de avaliar a variação climática no Brejo paraibano e sua influência na produtividade da cana-de-açúcar. Foi constatado através da análise do comportamento histórico da temperatura média do ar e pluviometria, obtido através da determinação das médias anuais, que a temperatura média do ar apresentou, no período de 1974 a 2008, um aumento de 0,0242 0 C ao ano, o correspondente a um aumento na temperatura de 1,2 0 C nos próximos 50 anos. E a variação anual da precipitação pluvial no período de 1974 a 2008 apresentou uma taxa negativa de 4,696 mm/ano, representando uma diminuição de 234,8 mm nos próximos 50 anos. Tendo em vista que a disponibilidade de água no solo desempenha um papel importante na elongação dos perfilhos e altura final dos colmos na cana-de-açúcar, bem como, o aumento da temperatura pode ocasionar uma reversão da sacarose em frutose e glicose além da redução da fotossíntese, e aumento da respiração da planta, levando a um menor acúmulo de açúcares, conclui-se que, se a redução da precipitação hídrica em conjunto com o aumento da temperatura média do ar for mantida nos próximos anos, poderão comprometer significativamente o desenvolvimento do cultivo canavieiro no Brejo paraibano.
