Resumen de Hacia una semblanza de Tertuliano en la España de Felipe IV

El presente artículo propone un acercamiento a la recepción de la figura de Tertuliano en España en un período que corresponde globalmente al reinado de Felipe IV. Nos centramos en la biografía de este padre de la Iglesia examinando los datos brindados por Pedro Manero en los paratextos de dos libros que publicó en 1644 y 1657. También tenemos en cuenta otras informaciones, como las que transmitió Pellicer. Las investigaciones realizadas muestran cómo Manero procura determinar el valor de la aportación de Tertuliano a partir de lo que fueron sus últimos años y de su relación con el montanismo.

This article examines the reception of Tertullian in Spain in a period which includes the reign of Philip IV. We focus on the biography of this Father of the Church by investigating the information Pedro Manero gathered in the paratexts of two books which he published in 1644 and 1657. We also analyse other data like those transmitted by Pellicer. Our investigations show that Manero considers the significance of Tertullian is thoroughly determined by his last years and especially by his relations with Montanism.
