Beneficios y desafíos del uso de las TIC en la cadena de suministro

    Este artículo realiza una revisión bibliográfica de la funcionalidad de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) en la Cadena de Suministro (CS), con el propósito de indagar cuáles son las más relevantes que intervienen en los procesos internos y externos para su integración, así como los beneficios que las organizaciones podrían alcanzar en su implementación y los desafíos que conlleva utilizar las tecnologías emergentes. A partir de la revisión realizada se identifica que existen tecnologías para cada proceso de la CS que permite su integración y un trabajo colaborativo prácticamente en tiempo real, que contribuyen principalmente a la reducción de tiempo, costos, capacidad de respuesta al cliente, errores, entre otros, a través de una planificación más acertada que les otorga precisión y optimización de recursos, así como asumir ciertos desafíos relacionados con la seguridad y privacidad de la información, mayor inversión y demanda de recurso humano calificado. De igual manera esta investigación aporta con la identificación de las tensiones que se analizan en la literatura respecto de la necesidad de profundizar investigación empírica de las tecnologías emergentes que se están utilizando en la CS.  Palabras clave: Cadena de Suministro, Logística Interna, Logística Externa, TIC, Industria 4.0.doi: https://doi.org/10.36825/RITI.08.15.012

    This article makes a bibliographic review of the functionality of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Supply Chain (SC), with the purpose of investigating which are the most relevant that intervene in internal and external processes for its integration, as well as the benefits that organizations could achieve in their implementation and the challenges that come with using emerging technologies. From the review carried out, it is identified that there are technologies for each SC process that allow its integration and collaborative work practically in real time, which mainly contribute to the reduction of time, costs, responsiveness to the client, errors, among others, through more accurate planning that gives them precision and optimization of resources, as well as taking on certain challenges related to information security and privacy, greater investment and demand for qualified human resources. In the same way, this research contributes with the identification of the tensions that are analyzed in the literature regarding the need to deepen empirical research of the emerging technologies that are being used in SC.Keywords: Supply Chain, Internal Logistics, External Logistics, ICT, Industry 4.0.doi: https://doi.org/10.36825/RITI.08.15.012
