Bond examines the condition of the people who got lost in the wilderness. While those who go missing in the wilderness make terrible decisions, their mistakes are strangely predictable. The way people behave when they are lost has always been a mystery and the extreme stress of being lost makes it impossible for them to reason. The need for science to identify the predictable behaviors to help rescuers narrow their search areas is also cited.
