25 years since the signature of the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan, known as Wadi Araba, and the agreement has turned nothing but a dead letter. The expectations created then have not materialized: there has not been economic improvement, the two societies continue rejecting each other and there is no more peace in the wider region.

This is due to several factors, which include the policies against peace implemented by the right-wing governments in Israel and the inability to solve the conflict with the Palestinians. To sum up, the non-implementation of the agreement. This has resulted in a general degradation of the bilateral relationship during the last years, epitomized in the non-renewal of the territorial annexes. This article aims to analyse the relation between Jordan and Israel considering the peace treaty, its development since 1994 and the point they have reached nowadays. Lastly, it also suggests several possible future scenarios.
