La Luna Formation in the Quebrada Chiriría section is constituted by calcareous shales and limestones of dark colors with siliceous and phosphatic intervals. This paper is based on a diagenetic study of thin sections (196) through microscope of polarized light supported by electronic microscopy (BSE, SE) and geochemical tools (CaCO3, COT, 818O, 813C and elementary relationships).
