Resumen de Los efectos del cambio climático: una nueva variable en la conservación y gestión del paisaje

Se introduce la problemática del cambio climático, y se describe brevemente forma en que el IPCC (International Pannel for Climate Change) redacta sus informes científicos, por unanimidad. Posteriormente se describe la relevancia del ámbito forestal por su papel mitigador del cambio climático, y la necesidad de perpetuar ese papel mitigador en futuro, siendo necesario para ello evaluar los impactos del cambio climático en este ámbito forestal. Para evaluar esos impactos es necesario disponer de escenarios locales de clima futuro: se esboza cómo se obtienen. En definitiva, se transmite el mensaje de que el cambio climático es una variable nueva que desde ya hay que empezar a meter en todas las ecuaciones, se dan unas pautas de cómo utilizar esta nueva variable, y de la necesidad de investigar más sobre ella.

The problem of climate change is introduced together with a brief description of the way in which the IPPC (International Panel for Climate Change) writes its unanimous scientific reports. The relevance of the forest area because of its mitigating role in climate change and the need to perpetuate that mitigating role in the future is then described. To do this the impacts of climate change on this forest area need to be evaluated. In order to do this, local future climate scenarios must be available: how they are obtained is outlined. The message is that climate change is a new variable which has to be included in all the equations and some guidelines on how to use this new variable as well as the need to do more research into it are given.
