The agreements signed by the State with the Protestant, Jewish and Islamic federations were a major advance in religious freedom, but after twenty-eight years of its entry into force, not a single other pact has been signed under article 7 of the Organic Law on Religious Freedom, despite the fact that the number of confessions with the chance to celebrate it has increased because they are notoriously rooted in Spain. Therefore, does a rule whose operability has been null since the original pacts of 1992 make sense? What, if any, is the crux of its need?
