    El objetivo de este trabajo es plantear algunas reformas en la ley orgánica española de libertad religiosa, sino urgentes sí convenientes para su tras cuarenta años de vigencia. Entre ellas, perfilar el papel de los poderes públicos ante la libertad religiosa de individuos y comunidades, e incorporar algunas precisiones y actualizaciones respecto al régimen jurídico de las entidades religiosas. Asimismo, proponemos replantear la distribución normativa entre la ley orgánica y los Acuerdos de Cooperación a través de un planteamiento procesal que exponemos, con objeto de imprimir en ambas normas mayor claridad y coherencia jurídica.

    The aim of this article is to propose some reforms in the Spanish Act of religious freedom. They are not urgent amendments but convenient in order to update the law after forty years in force. Among them, to underline the role of the public powers before the religious freedom of individuals and communities, and some precisions and updates regarding the legal regime of religious entities. Likewise, we propose to rethink the normative distribution between the organic law and the Cooperation Agreements through a procedural approach we suggest. All in order to give the legal system greater clarity and legal coherence.
