    Para completar el estudio de la historia de la fotografía desde sus orígenes, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, hasta la eclosión de la Guerra Civil en España, debe ponerse en valor el importante papel que desempeñaron aquellos fotógrafos que colaboraron en las Comisiones Provinciales de Monumentos Históricos y Artísticos. La labor de estos organismos artísticos creados en 1844 por el Estado español, hasta la instauración del régimen franquista, momento de desaparición paulatina de muchos de ellos, fue clave en la tutela del patrimonio cultural de nuestro país. Por ello, es preciso subrayar la destacada importancia que adquirió la fotografía como herramienta fundamental en el proceso de estudio, valoración y toma de decisiones de estas comisiones, cuyo interés como documento histórico ha sido fundamental para contrastar y verificar las anotaciones textuales de numerosos informes. Entre la nómina de fotógrafos que prestó sus servicios a la Comisión de Monumentos de Zaragoza se encuentra Manuel Hortet y Molada, figura pendiente de estudio por la historiografía artística, que se convirtió en el primer fotógrafo oficial de dicha institución desde 1867

    To complete the study of the history of photography from its origins in the II half of the nineteenth century until the outbreak of the Civil War in Spain, the important role played by photographers who collaborated in the Provincial Commissions should get in value Historical and Artistic Monuments. The work of these artistic organizations created in 1844 by the Spanish State, until the establishment of the Franco regime, when gradual disappearance of many of them, was instrumental in protecting the cultural heritage of our country. Therefore, it should be emphasized the outstanding importance acquired by photography as a fundamental tool in the process of study, assessment and decision-making of these committees, whose interest as a historical document has been fundamental to contrast and verify the textual annotations numerous reports. Among the list of photographers who served on the Committee on Monuments of Zaragoza is Manuel Hortet and Molada figure under study by the artistic history, which became the first official photographer of the institution since 1867
