  Es un hecho que el mercado editorial, al menos desde el fenómeno Harry Potter, se enfoca el nicho juvenil. Portador de subdivisiones que contemplan desde adolescentes a adultos jóvenes, las narraciones más largas en este segmento tienden a desafiar el mito de que los jóvenes no leen. Sin embargo, ¿cuál es el perfil de quienes escriben este tipo de producción? En los catálogos de las editoriales brasileñas más grandes, hay una ausencia de mujeres negras. Pero ellas escriben todo tipo de literatura, incluída la juvenil. En este artículo, presentaremos datos de una investigación en curso sobre mujeres negras que escriben para el nicho; cómo se legitiman ellas mismas; dónde y cómo publican.

  It is a fact that the publishing market has, at least since the phenomenon of Harry Potter, focused on the youth niche. Bearer of subdivisions that serve from teenagers to young adults, the longer narratives in this segment tend to challenge the myth that young people do not read. However, what is the profile of those who write this type of production? In the catalogs of the largest Brazilian publishers, there is an absence of black women. But they write all kinds of literature, including youth literature. In this article, we will present data from ongoing research on black women who write for the niche; how they legitimize themselves; where and how they publish.

  É fato que o mercado editorial tem, pelo menos desde o fenômeno Harry Potter, focalizado o nicho juvenil. Portador de subdivisões que atendem desde o adolescente até o jovem adulto, as narrativas mais longas deste segmento costumam desafiar o mito de que o jovem não lê. Todavia, qual o perfil de quem escreve esse tipo de produção? Nos catálogos das maiores editoras brasileiras, verifica-se a ausência de mulheres negras. Mas elas escrevem todos os tipos de literatura, inclusive juvenil. No presente artigo, apresentaremos dados de uma pesquisa em andamento sobre as mulheres negras que escrevem para o nicho; como se legitimam; onde e como publicam.
