La legislación y las políticas culturales en el proceso de patrimonialización del Tango en Buenos Aires, Argentina

    En la sociedad argentina, las expresiones artísticas o manifestaciones populares han logrado arraigar un sentido de pertenencia muy fuerte y entre estas demostraciones se destaca el “tango”. En el año 2009, Argentina logra que esta manifestación cultural ingrese a la lista representativa de patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la humanidad de la UNESCO. A partir de entonces, se incrementan las acciones de política para contribuir en el proceso de patrimonialización del Tango, las cuales han contribuido a la festivalización de la ciudad de Buenos Aires como estrategia para el desarrollo de la actividad turística. En este contexto, el objetivo del trabajo es analizar las acciones y políticas culturales vinculadas al tango como estrategia de patrimonialización de una expresión artística que combina danza, música, poesía y canto, y forma parte de la identidad cultural nacional, a los fines de comprender sus repercusiones turísticas y económicas. Del análisis se desprende que la consolidación de acciones y políticas culturales posibilitaron la afirmación del tango como respaldo de la memoria colectiva y de la identidad de un pueblo y como fenómeno que genera riqueza a través del turismo y la industria cultural.

    In Argentine society, artistic expressions or popular manifestations have managed to entrench a very strong sense of belonging and among these demonstrations stands out the "Tango”. In 2009, Argentina achieved that this cultural event enters the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. Since then, policy actions are increased to contribute to the process of heritage construction of Tango, which have contributed to the “festivalization” of the city of Buenos Aires as a strategy for the development of tourist activity. In this context, the aim of this work is to analyze the cultural actions and policies linked to tango as a strategy of heritage construction. As an artistic expression that combines dance, music, poetry and singing, and is part of the national cultural identity, the purpose is to understand its economic and touristic impact in the city. The analysis show that the consolidation of cultural actions and policies enabled the affirmation of tango as a support for the collective memory and identity of a people and as a phenomenon that generates wealth through tourism and the cultural industry.
