El descubrimiento en 1954 del conjunto de pinturas de la Solana de las Covachas marca el inicio de las investigaciones de arte rupestre prehistórico en Nerpio. Desde entonces son 78 los yacimientos conocidos, pertenecientes a los estilos Levantino y Esquemático postpaleolíticos. En este trabajo hacemos un recorrido por los hitos más destacados a lo largo de los 65 años de estudio transcurridos, y alertamos de la situación actual, en la que se aprecia cierto letargo en las investigaciones.

The discovery in 1954 of the paintings of Solana de las Covachas marks the beginning of the prehistoric rock art research in Nerpio. Since then there are 78 known sites, belonging to the postPaleolithic Levantine and Schematic stiles. In this article we take a tour of the most outstanding milestones throughout the 65 years of study that have elapsed, and we warn of the current situation, in wich you appreciate a certain standstill in the investigations
