Comune a tutte le forme di epica, la figura del narratore assume aspetti diversi col mutare delle fasi storiche e delle comunità a cui si rivolge. Costante è però il suo ruolo nel garantire, attraverso la finzione, il superamento di esperienze comunitarie traumatiche, collocandosi in una posizione insieme interna ed esterna alle vicende narrate e riattualizzando i “relitti” culturali del passato. Questo studio indaga lo sviluppo di tali elementi a partire dall’uso che ne fa Stefano D’Arrigo in Horcynus Orca, soffermandosi in particolare sulla scena del coro funebre delle femminote.

Common to all forms of epic, the figure of the narrator takes on different aspects depending on historical periods and the community addressed. One constant is that of overcoming, through fiction, shared traumatic experiences, whereby the narrator sets himself in both an internal and external position with regard to the events narrated and updates past cultural “relicts”. The present study investigates the development of these elements from the standpoint of the use that Stefano D’Arrigo makes of them in Horcynus Orca, focusing in particular on the scene of the funeral chorus of the “femminote”.
