Las manifestaciones rupestres post-paleolíticas de Llanes, más allá del Ídolo de Peña Tú

    En el presente trabajo se estudian cuatro cavidades de Llanes (Asturias) con grabados rupestres atribuibles a momentos posteriores al Paleolítico, entre el Neolítico y el siglo XVIII: el abrigo de Las Inxanas y las cuevas de Samoreli, La Peña II y Cordoveganes II. Se trata de un conjunto heterogéneo, pero todas presentan manifestaciones sencillas (líneas, geométricos, cruces...) y poco características que no han captado el interés de los investigadores. Este estudio pretende realizar una aproximación a la catalogación precisa de los motivos representados y su comparación con otros conjuntos de las regiones próximas, con el objetivo de acotar su cronología postpaleolítica y servir de punto de partida para otros estudios. De este modo, los grabados incisos a base de líneas de Peña II podrían ser de la Edad del Bronce, las pentalfas y demás motivos de Samoreli de la Edad del Hierro, los geométricos de las Inxanas de la Edad del Hierro y las cruces de la Edad Moderna, y las cruces de Cordoveganes II de la Edad Media o Moderna.

    Four sites in Llanes (Asturias) contain ensembles of parietal engravings that can be attributed to a time after the Palaeolithic, between the Neolithic and the 18th century AD: Las Inxanas Rockshelter and the Caves of Samoreli, La Peña II and Cordoveganes II. This is a heterogeneous group of sites but they all display simple motifs (lines, geometric figures, crosses, etc.) that are undiagnostic and have not previously attracted the attention of researchers. The present study has attempted precise documentation of the motifs and their comparison with other ensembles in surrounding regions, in order to delimit their post-Palaeolithic chronology. It thus aims to act as the foundation for future research. In this way, the linear incised engravings in Peña II may be dated in the Bronze Age, the pentagrams and other motifs in Samoreli in the Iron Age, the geometric engravings in Las Inxanas may also be dated in the Iron Age while the crosses at the same site can be attributed to the Modern Age, and finally the crosses in Cordoveganes II may belong to the Middle or Modern Ages.
