Resumen
The main multivariate analysis methods are presented as well as the technique known as “Data Mining” that will be used in the statistical study of the industry of the Old Palaeolitic outlined in the doctoral thesis of José Juan Fernández Caro (U. de Córdoba, 1998) and José Antonio Caro Gómez (U. de Sevilla, 1999), thesis in wich there was studied more of one hundred of sites contaignig tens of thousand of pieces of lithic industry Later follows the descripción of the procedure followed for the systematizing, selection and clearance of the information that will be subject of analysis, finally determining the “sites x variables” matrix to wich the main multivariate analysis methods are applied.Finally, simple results are presented, as yielded by the application sites of the metodology exposed in the study of the sites selected among from above two doctoral thesis, as well as the conclusions that can be deduced of these results.
