Gran Dolina is one of the most important Pleistocene archaeological sites in Europe. It has three important archaeo-paleontological layers: TD10, TD6 and TD4, where high densities of anthropogenic bones and lithic remains have been found. In TD6, Homo antecessor, a new Early Pleistocene hominid species has been defined. The relevance of this site makes a good definition of the sedimentary process essential for a fine understanding of the archaeological remains. In this work we describe the different sedimentary facies, distinguished between autochthonous and allochthonous facies, and we update its stratigraphy. For this means, we have made detailed stratigraphic section and characterize sedimentary processes. In addition, we used analytical techniques like grain-size distributions and grain-shape analysis.
