This study aims to analyze the non verbal and vocal resources used by eight TV anchors, from different Brazilian TV networks, recorded on video on September, 07 of 2000 at night (8:00 pm), focusing on the same theme: The Brazilian Independency Day Celebration. The non-verbal elements analyzed were space (proxemics), facial expressions, posture and gestures, using Ekman’s and Friesen’s classification model of emblems, illustrators, regulators, affective and adaptive manifestations. The vocal resources include the intonation curve (ascending, descending and leveled), the frequency, the intensity, the pause and the duration. The results reach the presence of a relation between gesture and intonation, favoring expressivity. As speech pathologist, as a complementary analysis, we make suggestions for a better performance of the TV professionals.
