Resumen de Cuerpo y rito: la estructura del gesto en ceremonias públicas

José Enrique Finol

  • I propose an alternative analysis for gestural communication related to its fundamental sphere: the body. This body displayed in public ceremonies, as a ritual itself has a meaning according to the part of the body which is emphasized. The upper parts, that is, hands, arms and head give the idea of action in the future, whereas the gestures related to the lower part indicate aggressiveness and offensive attitudes.
