    Diferentes hipótesis acerca del llamado 'espíritu empresarial antioqueño' han sido formuladas por estudiosos de la historia regional. Sin desconocer el papel que han tenido el café, el sector agropecuario y la industria, este artículo se propone hacer una reflexión de cómo el fundamento de tal 'espíritu' tuvo su origen en las formas de desarrollo de la minería auro argentífera.

    Several hypotheses about the entrepreneurial spirit in the in the Antioquian region have been, at present, settled down. Without leaving aside arguments such as coffee, industry and farm, it is the purpose here to show how gold, silver and mining companies altogether were the seed of that 'spirit'. Along with this, topics like European immigrants, know how, commerce and transportation are briefly reviewed.
