With the purpose of delving deeply into the concept of iconization, separating it from its automatic association with visual objects, this paper develops its examples in a poem by Glauce Baldovin, Libro de Ia soledad (Book of Solitude). By means of reflections on that text, a proposal is developed for considering iconicity as the effect of placing the iconization process into a discourse, which is, at the same time, the last step in the process of figurativization.
