  • Resumen
    • The aeronautical industry has begun to use advanced manufacturing and 3D printing for functional parts. The Product Design Laboratory (PDL) has studied the feasibility of manufacturing a part by Additive Manufacturing and has compared the geometric quality of the resulting part with those currently manufactured by plate assembly. Traditionally, we carried out the manufacture of these elements by stamping their different parts and subsequent welding. The objective of this project is to analyse the resulting part using different methods; contact technology (CMM), non-contact based on structured blue light (triangulation technology) and X-rays (CT), determining the suitability and limitations of each inspection technology. The manufacture of this part is not analysed. We studied this component from different points of view: geometric and dimensional verification and analysis of internal defects. We carried out the first of the macro geometric dimensional control stages using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and acquiring a point cloud with structured light, while the defect analysis activity was carried out using an X-ray machine. There are certain detail features that we processed by Computational Tomography (CT) tracing the results to those obtained with an optical microscope with a micrometer table.
